Background and Clinical Interests

Dr. Christine Lysaght PT, PhD, FNAP, CSCS is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Co-Director of the Interprofessional Student-Run Pro Bono Therapy Clinic, and Interprofessional Education Director of the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University. Her teaching experience includes Introduction to Patient Care, clinical labs in Neuroscience, Pediatrics, Adult Neurologic Rehabilitation, and Health Promotion. She is an innovative educator who incorporates experiential learning in didactic courses.  Christine’s research interests focus on interprofessional education and practice, simulation, outcomes from student-run clinics, and mutual trust.

As a physical therapist, Christine has a diverse clinical background, including outpatient physical therapy with adults and children, inpatient rehabilitation, home health, and early intervention.  She is passionate about preparing collaboration-ready healthcare professionals to positively impact patients, families, and healthcare systems. To broaden her impact, she earned a PhD in Interprofessional Healthcare Studies from Rosalind Franklin University. Her dissertation focused on the factors and outcomes related to the development of mutual trust between healthcare professionals, specifically primary care physicians and physical therapists.
