Background and Clinical Interests

Christine R Lysaght, PT, DPT, CSCS is an Assistant Clinical Professor for East Carolina Department of Physical Therapy. Teaching responsibilities include Adult Neurologic Treatment and Intervention I & II, Introduction to Patient Care I & II, and Health Promotions. Christine’s clinical interests involve promotion of physical activity, assistive technology, and early power mobility. Clinical responsibilities entail patient treatment in the department run ECU PT clinic as well as overseeing the ECU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Student Run Clinic.

Christine has a diverse clinical background including outpatient physical therapy with adults and pediatrics, inpatient rehabilitation, home health and early intervention. She received her entry-level Master’s of Science from Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999. In 2015, she completed her transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Christine is passionate about serving her community and is an active member of Eastern North Carolina Ambucs, who provides adapted bicycles for children with disabilities. Each year, she and her students oversee fitting and initial bike training for multiple children in order to promote physical activity and participation.
